40. Dominique Wilkins

Wilkins, known as “the Human Highlight Film” for his acrobatic dunks, enjoyed a 15-year NBA career, 11-plus seasons of which he spent with Atlanta Hawks.

Drafted No. 3 overall by the Utah Jazz in 1982, he was traded to the Hawks before playing a game for Utah.

Wilkins played in 1,074 NBA games, averaging 24.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, with career totals of 26,668 points, 7,167 rebounds and 2,677 assists.

He led the league in scoring in the 1985–86 season with 30.3 points per game and finished No. 2 in MVP voting behind Larry Bird.

Wilkins was a nine-time NBA All-Star and earned seven All-NBA selections.

One of the most athletic and entertaining players of the 1980s, Wilkins won two NBA Slam Dunk Contests (1985, 1990).

He holds franchise records with the Hawks for most games played (882), minutes (32,545) and career points (23,292). His No. 21 jersey was retired by the Hawks in 2001, and he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006.

Later in his career, Wilkins played for other teams like the Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs and Orlando Magic, and internationally with Panathinaikos, winning the EuroLeague and Greek Cup in 1996.
