Drake Maye Ranks Among NFL’s Top 10 In These Categories

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye had another two-turnover game in the team’s Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Outside of his one interception, however, he was efficient in his passing for the third game in a row.

Maye ranks second in the NFL in completion percentage (72.6%) entering Monday and among the league’s top 10 in a host of other categories as well, as shared by Chad Graff of The Athletic.

“Through three weeks, Drake Maye ranks: — 10th in adjusted yards/attempt — 8th in EPA/play — 5th in CPOE — 7th in success rate — 10th in PFF’s passing grade — 2nd in completion percentage,” Graff wrote on Bluesky on Monday.

Maye’s 72.6% completion percentage trails only Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff (80.6%), who plays on “Monday Night Football” against the Baltimore Ravens.

His 7.50 adjusted yards per pass attempt is up from 6.29 during his rookie season and is well behind league-leader Lamar Jackson (11.54).

Maye’s expected points added (EPA) per play is 0.20 and his completion percentage over expected (CPOE) is 6.3%. The 2024 Pro Bowler’s success rate is 48.3%.

The 23-year-old Maye still has lots of room to grow this season, but in some of the NFL’s advanced statistics, he’s off to a good start in 2025.
