Franklin Arias is continuing to star in the minors for Boston
The 2025 campaign has been a great year for the Boston Red Sox’s farm system. Their big three of Roman Anthony, Marcelo Mayer and Kristian Campbell all have found their way to the big leagues, with Payton Tolle and Jhostynxon Garcia also making their major league debuts recently.
With Anthony, Mayer and Campbell all graduating to the majors, the strength of Boston’s farm system has taken a hit. However, the team may be in the process of unearthing another gem in shortstop Franklin Arias.
Arias has emerged as the Red Sox’s top prospect recently, thanks to his strong play at Single-A and High-A throughout the year. So far this season, Arias is hitting .281 with seven home runs, 62 RBIs and 11 stolen bases.
Earlier this week, Arias was promoted to Double-A Portland, and he has already found a way to make an impact for his new squad. In his latest game on Friday night, Arias hit his first home run with the Sea Dogs, as he continues to turn heads within Boston’s front office.
At only 19 years old, Arias is likely still a couple of years away from finding his way to the majors. His ascent this season has been tough to ignore, though, as he is now the No. 23 prospect in baseball according to MLB.com
While Anthony and Mayer are injured and Campbell is in Triple-A after struggling earlier this season, Boston’s farm system is continuing to churn out stars. And even though Arias is still very young, if he keeps on tearing it up in the minors, he could join the Sox’s young core in the majors before you know it.
