Fans can see Cena one more time in Boston
Wrestling fans will get a chance to bid farewell to John Cena in Boston later this year.
WWE announced that Cena will make his final appearance at TD Garden when the arena hosts “Monday Night Raw” on Nov. 10. He’ll attend “Raw” at Madison Square Garden in New York the following Monday.
Tickets go on sale starting Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. ET.
The news means the West Newbury, Mass. native won’t wrestle his final match in Boston. Cena’s last WWE match is scheduled for “Saturday Night’s Main Event” on Dec. 13, an event streaming exclusively on Peacock.
WWE has yet to confirm the location for that show, but WrestleVotes and PWInsider.com reported that it’s taking place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.
Cena announced last year that he’d retire from WWE at the end of 2025. His farewell tour included a shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber on March 1 before winning his record-setting 17th world championship at his final WrestleMania.
The Hollywood star abruptly turned back into a babyface before dropping the WWE Championship back to Cody Rhodes in a WrestleMania rematch at SummerSlam. Once again operating as a good guy, Cena defeated Logan Paul at WWE Clash in Paris on Aug. 31.
Cena is scheduled to compete at WrestlePalooza, the first WWE event streaming exclusively on ESPN, later this month. While his opponent isn’t official, the company laid the groundwork for a marquee matchup with longtime rival Brock Lesnar.
Fans may receive answers with Cena scheduled to attend this Friday’s “SmackDown” in Chicago.
