Bruins’ Hampus Lindholm Gives Positive Update After Return From Injury

Lindholm recorded an assist in his return to the lineup

The Boston Bruins got star defenseman Hampus Lindholm back in the lineup on Tuesday, and he made an immediate impact in the team’s 5-2 comeback win.

Lindholm missed the last five games with an injury, but the Bruins activated him from the injured reserve ahead of the team’s game against the New York Islanders on Tuesday.

In his return, Lindholm recorded an assist on David Pastrnak’s goal to tie the game 2-2. Lindholm finished the game recording 19:03 of ice time, and had one assist in six penalty minutes. After the game, he said his body felt well.

“I am looking ahead,” Lindholm said, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “Body feels good, and (a) big win for the boys tonight. I think we showed we can score goals in this league. That hasn’t been the problem. I think it’s keeping the puck out of the net. Tonight, we did a way better job protecting the house.”

Lindholm played alongside Andrew Peeke on the second pairing and also recorded one shot and two blocked shots.

Bruins head coach Marco Sturm, meanwhile, was also impressed with Lindholm’s play on Tuesday.

“I wanted to hug him after the game, I can tell you that,” Sturm said. “He was outstanding. He calmed everything down, made some good plays, good reads, he helped his partner a lot.”
