Bruins Defensemen Praises Marco Sturm, Coaching Staff

Boston is off to a 3-1 start

The Boston Bruins have been an early surprise in the NHL season, as they’re off to a 3-1 start.

Boston is kicking off a three-game road trip on Thursday against the Vegas Golden Knights. The Bruins have been playing well, and defenseman Jordan Harris believes a lot of credit must go to head coach Marco Sturm and the coaching staff.

“I think the coaches have done a good job at putting us in a position to pick up the systems pretty quickly,” Harris said, via NHL.com. “They’ve been pretty clear on where our assignments are and all that stuff. I think a road trip like this is huge for us early in the year. Even since the first day of training camp, everyone has been chatting, everyone has been high energy. There is a lot of excitement and positivity.”

Sturm is in his first season as the Bruins’ head coach, and the players are impressed with him.

The first-year head coach is also pleased with his team. Sturm was glad to get on the road, as he believes road trips are where teams truly come together.

“It is a tough schedule this season,” Strum said. “You don’t really have those days, and I think that’s why it is so important – especially with a lot of new faces, new coach, new coaches – to have bonding like this. “I think it always helps. I think it was a really successful day yesterday. Hopefully, it is going to help us in the future.”

Boston started its road trip with a poker tournament with all the players and coaching staff.
