Patriots Should Meet Price For Jakobi Meyers Trade With Raiders

Meyers could be move before the Nov. 4 deadline

As the NFL Trade deadline approaches, the Patriots are back in familiar territory.

Talk of the Pats buying instead of being sellers has finally returned for the first time since 2021. That’s also the last season that Jakobi Meyers played winning football, as he amassed over 850 receiving yards while the Mac Jones-led Patriots won 10 games.

While the offense looks vastly different in New England now as the Patriots are led by Drake Maye, a reunion with Jakobi Meyers would be just what New England needs

Enter the price for a 29, soon-to-be 30-year-old receiver. NFL insider Jordan Schultz recently reported that the price the Raiders are seeking is a day-two draft pick. A third-rounder for a receiver that needs an extension? Sign us up.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler recently ranked the top 25 players he could see being moved before the deadline and dropped this nugget about Meyers and the Raiders:

“There’s no consensus leaguewide on exactly what Las Vegas will do. Multiple execs told me they believe the team is open to a deal but is not actively looking for trade partners.”

While Meyers is three years older than the last time he played for the Patriots, he is still productive. Amassing 87 catches for over 1,000 yards last season, he is on pace for 82 receptions and 930 yards in 2025. He is experienced in Josh McDaniels’ offense and has always been a reliable weapon.

Kayshon Boutte has been the Patriots’ answer for the deep ball, as Stefon Diggs has been their guy in the slot, but New England could use a big-bodied receiver over the middle. And the price for Meyers should be perfect for a team that is currently the two-seed in the AFC.
