Bruins Forward Pavel Zacha The Hero In ‘Big Team Win’

Zacha scored OT winner

The Boston Bruins extended their win streak to five games with a 3-2 overtime win over the Ottawa Senators on Thursday.

Boston trailed 1-0 after the first period, but the Bruins rallied to take a 2-1 lead before the Sens tied it just over midway through the third period.

In overtime, Zacha got the winner with six seconds left. It was a great performance from the Bruins, as Zacha called it a “big team win.”

“It was a big team win,” Zacha said postgame on Thursday. “Until the end, all the lines were going. Even through injuries, a couple of guys leaving the game, we stuck together and won the game.”

Morgan Geekie and Sean Kuraly also scored for the Bruins in the win.

Kuraly, like Zacha, felt like everyone on the team played well as the Bruins are eliminating the mistakes they made earlier on in the season.

“We’re doing enough right things to hang in games, and if you give yourself a chance, you put yourself in a spot to get points. There are still things we want to clean up, but we’re sticking to our systems, and we’re eliminating major mistakes that ended up in the back of our net during that losing streak.

“It might’ve looked a lot worse than what it was, and then you just get down on yourself. So now we’re eliminating those major mistakes and honed in on a couple of areas of our defensive zone structure.”

The Bruins will look to extend their win streak to six when they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs on the road on Saturday.
