Bruins Have Given NHL’s Best Team Only Regulation Loss Amid Historic Start

The Bruins had one of the most impressive wins across the league this season thus far

Already with a six-game losing streak and a seven-game winning streak this fall, the Boston Bruins have arguably been the most inconsistent team in the NHL this season.

First-year head coach Marco Sturm’s team had one of the most impressive wins across the league on Oct. 25, however, when they defeated the Colorado Avalanche, 3-2.

The Avalanche are not only the best team in the NHL with 33 points entering Friday night, but their 14-1-5 start has been historic.

Colorado is just the fourth team in league history with one regulation loss or fewer through their first 20 games, as noted by the NHL’s official X account.

“The @Avalanche are off to a scorching HOT start!” the NHL’s account posted.

The Bruins have had a lot of ups and downs through the first quarter of the 2025-26 campaign, but none of the Avalanche’s 15 different opponents can lay claim to what Boston can.
