Aaron Boone Responds To Sonny Gray’s ‘Hate The Yankees’ Comments

Some of Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Sonny Gray’s new teammates recently approved of the hurler’s anti-New York Yankees comments.
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman reacted to Gray’s words on Sunday night.
It was manager Aaron Boone’s turn on Monday.
“Aaron Boone on Sonny Gray’s comments about the Yankees: ‘Spice up the rivalry a little – nothing wrong with that,'” Alex Speier of the Boston Globe posted on Bluesky.
The right-hander landed with the Red Sox in a trade on Nov. 25.
Gray made headlines last week when he said during a Zoom interview that “It’s easy to go to a place now where it’s easy to hate the Yankees.”
The 36-year-old had a rough stretch during his one and a half seasons in the Bronx during the second half of 2017 and all of the 2018 campaign.
Gray went 15-16 with a 4.51 ERA and 1.41 WHIP during 41 appearances (34 starts) with the Yankees.
