When will Pastrnak return?
The Boston Bruins have been slumping lately, losing six of their last 10 games. They’ve struggled without star forward David Pastrnak, who hasn’t played since Nov. 26 due to an undisclosed injury.
The Bruins have lost two of their three games without Pastrnak, who’s expected to remain sidelined the rest of the week. He’ll likely miss tonight’s game against the St. Louis Blues and Saturday’s game versus the New Jersey Devils, both of which are at home.
It’s unclear when Pastrnak will be able to return. Boston heads out on a three-game road trip next week, but it’s unknown if he will travel with the team.
Bruins play-by-play announcer Judd Sirott provided an update on Pastrnak during his Thursday morning appearance on WEEI.
“It’s a total unknown,” Sirott said. “My guess is — if he doesn’t go on the trip, and hopefully he does — that he skates here in Brighton while the team is on the road so you have him ready when they come back, because you’ve got a couple of big divisional games.”
Head coach Marco Sturm has not said much about Pastrnak’s mysterious injury, making it tough to predict when the four-time All-Star might return. If he doesn’t come back during their upcoming road trip, he could return during their five-game homestand before Christmas.
In the meantime, the Bruins will try to persevere without one of their best players and patiently wait until he returns.
