'We’ve just got to stick with it'
The Boston Bruins suffered another loss on Monday to extend their losing streak to six games.
Boston lost 2-1 in overtime to the Calgary Flames on the road, in a game the Bruins led 1-0 early. However, the offense couldn’t get another goal, as it was a frustrating loss for the Bruins.
With the Bruins on an eight-game losing streak, forward Sean Kuraly believes the team just needs to stick to how they are playing.
“We’ve just got to stick with it,” Kuraly said on Monday as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “I think the message between each other is you just got to stick with it. We’re going to get out of it.
“If we stick together, we are going to get out of it as quickly as we possibly can. Some things we can build off tonight.”
It was a disappointing loss for the Bruins, who are outside of a playoff spot and looking in. Yet, defenseman Andrew Peeke agreed with Kuraly as he feels like the team is playing well and the tide will change soon.
“It is tough,” Peeke added. “You want to win that game. We felt like for a good amount we were in control, and then, obviously, hockey is hockey, and there’s going to be chances both ways.
“We’ve still got to commit to having good breakouts, getting the puck in, working them down low, and just kind of getting shots. I think we can still do a little bit more of that.”
With the overtime loss, the Bruins fell to 20-18-2 and are two points back of a playoff spot. Boston will return to the ice on Wednesday on the road against the Edmonton Oilers.
