Kay Adams Calls It ‘Crazy’ To Write Off Patriots After Bills Loss

'You will not catch me bailing on the Patriots'

Kay Adams believes critics are reacting too harshly to one New England Patriots setback.

New England snapped a 10-game winning streak in Sunday’s 35-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The 11-3 Patriots now have the third-shortest odds (+490) to win the AFC on FanDuel Sportsbook and are road underdogs for their Week 16 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.

Adams argued Tuesday on her FanDuel TV show that the Patriots are getting disrespected following the disappointing outcome.

“They have just flown completely out the window because of one bad half against Buffalo,” Adams said. “That is crazy. Look at how far they are down. A distant third in the AFC. They’re underdog against a Ravens team that’s not really had the consistent body of work this year.”

Critics have spent the 2025 season questioning New England’s ability to handle elite competition, so Adams theorized that they jumped at the chance to claim validation after Mike Vrabel’s squad stumbled against the Bills.

“It feels to me like people are waiting for the Pats to lose,” Adams said. “They’re waiting to lose so people can justify their yelling at a cloud, ‘You didn’t play anybody! Strength of schedule! We didn’t pick you, so you can’t be successful!’ And they’re using the Buffalo second half as an opportunity to say, ‘I told you so. We were right. We don’t believe in you.'”

Adams didn’t see the same doubts surface when the Chicago Bears lost to the Green Bay Packers or the Los Angeles Rams fell to the Carolina Panthers. The former “Good Morning Football” host suggested that jealousy could be causing a harsher response toward the Patriots.

“God forbid they add to their dynasty and legacy and be so much better than everybody else in the grand scheme of NFL history and lore,” Adams mused.

Adams wouldn’t let New England entirely off the hook for blowing a 21-point lead in a game that could have wrapped up the AFC East. Yet she also opined that the division game said more about the Bills cementing themselves as contenders.

“That is a game you got to finish decisively, and ultimately, this was an inexcusable loss for New England,” Adams said. “But I’m not going to erase everything that they’ve done … It’s not like they got completely outclassed or something. They blew a lead. They lost a supercompetitive game to a rival in their division. Sweeps are hard.”

While it’s too early to give up on the Patriots, Adams would revisit the conversation if they lose to the Ravens on “Sunday Night Football.”

“You will not catch me bailing on the Patriots because of a lackluster second-half performance,” Adams declared. “You just won’t.”
