Knicks’ Jalen Brunson Responds To Foul Baiting Accusations

He definitely does ...

Jalen Brunson is one of the best guards in the NBA, but he’s also a foul baiter. It’s a habit of Brunson’s that has grown increasingly annoying and unlikable over the past season or two.

The New York Knicks star recently took some heat for his foul baiting tactics while appearing as a guest on the Underground Lounge podcast.

To no one’s surprise, Brunson vehemently denied that he’s a foul baiter. Brunson’s response was interesting to listen to amid a growing tension in the NBA over officiating complaints.

Foul baiting or not, Brunson is delivering a stellar 2025-26 season for the Knicks. Through 26 games, he’s averaging 29.1 points, 6.6 assists, and 3.4 rebounds on 48.2 percent from the field.

The Knicks hold a strong 20-8 record, bolstered by his consistent production. On December 21, Brunson exploded for 47 points on 15-of-26 shooting, adding eight assists in a 132-125 win over the Miami Heat (his highest total at Madison Square Garden to date).

Brunson’s career started with the Dallas Mavericks, who drafted him 33rd overall in 2018 after he claimed two NCAA titles at Villanova. He played four years in Dallas, contributing to deep playoff runs, before inking a deal with New York in 2022. Across 513 NBA games, he holds career averages of 18.7 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.2 rebounds, establishing himself as an elite guard through steady growth and poise in big moments.
