Game Overview

The 68 Ventures Bowl has featured many names over the years — GMAC Bowl (2000–2010), GoDaddy Bowl (2011–2015), DollarGeneral Bowl (2016–2018) and LendingTree Bowl (2019–2022) — but it can best be described as that one bowl game…

Arkansas State (2024), South Alabama (2023), and Southern Miss (2022) are the three most recent winners in this game, which has included quite a few one-sided matchups over the years — including an outrageous 63-7 victory for Tulsa over Bowling Green back in 2008.

Team Overviews

Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns
Conference: Sun Belt
Head Coach: Michael Desormeaux
Record: 6–6

Louisiana has a below-average offense (74th of 136), below-average defense (105th of 136) and an underwhelming strength of schedule (105th of 136), but they’ve somehow won enough to make a bowl game for the eighth straight season.

What do you think?  Leave a comment.

The Ragin’ Cajuns certainly aren’t what they were in the days of Billy Napier and Mark Hudspeth, but they’ve found out how to stay competitive in situations where they aren’t the more talented team. Lunch Winfield, the starting quarterback, should be good to go for this one, so there’s no reason to expect that to change.

Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens
Conference: Conference USA
Head Coach: Ryan Carty
Record: 6-6

Delaware has been formidable in its first season in the FBS, boasting some pretty substantial wins over UConn (9-3), FIU (7-5) and Louisiana Tech (9-3).

The Fightin’ Blue Hens have been led by quarterback Nick Minicucci — the conference leader in completions (303), attempts (482) and passing yards (3,507). Sean Wilson and Kyre Duplessis have been his top targets, but the junior has completed a pass to 15 different receivers and tossed a touchdown to 11 different receivers — tops in CUSA.

It’s been quite the promotion for the program.
