Mike Vrabel Has Hilarious Reaction To Will Campbell’s Viral Stunt At Celtics Game

Vrabel poked fun at Campbell's shirtless act

It was a pretty good weekend for Boston sports fans. The Celtics won both of their games, the Boston Red Sox swung a big trade for Willson Contreras and the New England Patriots came back to beat the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football.

During the Celtics’ 129-116 win over the Miami Heat at TD Garden on Friday, Patriots offensive lineman Will Campbell went viral after the camera found him and his teammates watching the game from a luxury box. Campbell immediately ripped his shirt off and chugged a beer, much to the delight of Celtics fans.

On Monday morning, New England head coach Mike Vrabel teased Campbell during his appearance on WEEI.

“I’m thinking about firing the strength coach the way (Campbell) looked with his shirt off,” Vrabel joked.

Listed at 6-foot-6 and over 300 pounds, Campbell is a big guy with a large upper body, so he has some weight to spare. It also doesn’t help that he’s on the IR with a knee injury and hasn’t played in a month, so he probably isn’t in the best shape of his life right now.

All jokes aside, the Patriots are expected to get Campbell back soon and hope to have him ready for the playoffs. New England’s offensive line has missed the rookie left tackle and his critical protection for Drake Maye.

Meanwhile, Deron Mayo doesn’t appear to be in serious danger of losing his role as strength and conditioning coach. The Patriots are tied for the NFL’s best record at 12-3, so that doesn’t seem to be an issue for them this year.
