Patriots Announce Major Will Campbell Update Ahead Of Playoffs

Campbell is expected to practice this week

The New England Patriots have been without Will Campbell in their last four games after he was placed on injured reserve.

The Patriots are 3-1 without their star left tackle, but Mike Vrabel expects Campbell to practice this week, opening his 21-day practice window. Vederian Lowe has been starting in his place and has done a fine job.

Campbell was the Patriots’ first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He is their franchise left tackle, and getting him back will be a huge boost. However, having Lowe on the bench gives the Patriots some stability if Campbell is not ready to go this week.

Campbell could play this week, depending on how he looks at practice. However, the Patriots could play it safe and keep him out until the playoffs. However, his return to practice will be a huge step in the right direction.

The Patriots do not know if they will have a bye or not, which makes winning Sunday’s game important. Mike Vrabel expects to play his starters with a chance at the No. 1 seed on the line.

To clinch the top seed, the Patriots need a win and a Denver Broncos loss. The Patriots game against the Miami Dolphins is scheduled to kick off at the same time as the Broncos game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Having Campbell on the field could give the Patriots a better chance to win, but Lowe has proven to be able to play well. If they can win with Lowe, they could give Campbell at least one more week to recover. If the Chargers give them some help, Campbell would get even more time to heal up and make his return for the Divisional Round.
