Patriots Fans Will Love Mike Vrabel’s Mindset Ahead Of Matchup Vs. Bills

New England can claim the AFC East title in Week 15

For the first time in a long time, the Patriots will be playing for hats and t-shirts when they host the Bills at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, though, won’t be using the merchandise as motivation.

“No, I don’t use ‘hat and t-shirt.'” Vrabel told reporters Monday, per the team.

He will use the idea of an AFC East championship, however.

“We’re just trying to play for the championship that we have available this week,” Vrabel continued. “And I think it’s a great testament to our players that have put us in this position to be able to do that.”

It’s a position the Patriots haven’t been in in five seasons, the rival Bills having won each of the last five division crowns. New England, which is tied with the Denver Broncos for the league’s best record, has the opportunity to claim Vrabel’s first goal for the team against Josh Allen and company.

It’s not going unnoticed inside the confines of Gillette Stadium.

“We’re playing for a championship this week,” Vrabel said on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show,” per the team. “Each week you have a new opportunity and a new message, and this week it’s a championship week for us. An opportunity to win the AFC East, something this team hasn’t done in five years.”

The Bills are coming off a crucial Week 14 win against the Cincinnati Bengals.
