Patriots Injuries: Highly Important Defender Ruled Out For Ravens Matchup

Four players are listed as questionable

Stopping the run will be one of the Patriots’ keys to winning Sunday night’s road game against the Ravens. Unfortunately, one of the players most crucial to accomplishing that goal won’t be on the field in Baltimore.

On Friday, New England ruled out linebacker Robert Spillane for the Week 16 matchup at M&T Bank Stadium. Spillane, who leads the Patriots with 97 total tackles, is dealing with an ankle injury that limited him to zero snaps in last Sunday’s home loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Here’s the Patriots’ final Week 16 injury report:

OUT
LB Robert Spillane (ankle)

QUESTIONABLE
DT Christian Barmore (knee)
CB Carlton Davis III (hip)
CB Marcus Jones (knee)
LB Harold Landry (knee)

Landry, Jones and Davis all were limited in Friday’s practice after not participating the previous two days. Jones told reporters he intends to play on Sunday, but a final decision won’t be made until roughly 90 minutes before kickoff.

Barmore didn’t participate in Friday’s practice after being a full participant on Thursday and limited on Wednesday. His status remains up in the air.

On the positive side, linebacker Christian Elliss was removed from the injury report after practicing fully on Friday. He was limited on Thursday and a non-participant on Wednesday.

Sunday’s Patriots-Ravens game is scheduled to start at 8:20 p.m. ET. New England can clinch a playoff berth with a victory.
