Pavel Zacha Sends Stern Message To Bruins Amid Losing Streak

'We have to really start winning games'

Boston Bruins forward Pavel Zacha knows the team has to start winning games.

The Bruins entered the Holiday break on a four-game losing streak, and after the break, Boston suffered a 4-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. It was a disappointing loss for the Bruins, and Zacha sent a stern message to the team.

“Our division is so close,” Zacha said on Saturday, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “We have to really start winning games, and this is something we have to focus on moving forward.

“It just wasn’t good enough today. So we have to really figure out how to respond to this loss.”

Boston has now lost five straight games and is in second-last in the Atlantic Division. However, the Bruins are still just one point out of a playoff spot, so Boston remains in the mix.

But, Bruins head coach Marco Sturm said the team has to be better than it was on Saturday against Buffalo.

“Today, since the start to probably the finish, was just not a good day that we wanted,” Sturm said. “But you know what, it’s over. I think we all have to analyze this one today, and we have to move forward because it’s not going to get easier.

“It’s definitely more on us now just to get back to our foundation, back to our game. And it starts with a good practice tomorrow, and hopefully a good game in Calgary.”

Boston will go on the road to play the Calgary Flames on Monday.
