McAvoy is just over three weeks removed from suffering a fractured jaw after being struck in the face by a slap shot
The Boston Bruins begin a three-game road trip on Tuesday vs. the St. Louis Blues and could welcome a pair of crucial players back to the lineup in the near future.
Star forward David Pastrnak said on Monday that he expects to return to action at some point on the road trip.
According to WEEI’s Scott McLaughlin, defenseman Charlie McAvoy will also be joining Boston on the trip and may be back in the lineup soon as well.
“David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy are both traveling on this trip,” McLaughlin posted on X. “Pastrnak expects to play at some point. McAvoy hopes to, but still needs final clearance.”
McAvoy is just over three weeks removed from suffering a fractured jaw after being struck in the face by a slap shot.
The former first-round pick returned to Bruins practice in early December.
