He's played pretty much everywhere.
The New York Yankees have been the quietest team in the American League East so far this offseason, but they made a signing on Saturday.
Per multiple sources, the Yankees are bringing back 30-year-old utility man Amed Rosario on a one-year, $2.5 million contract.
Rosario has played in 1,004 MLB games for seven different franchises, most recently the Yankees in 2025. He led the AL in triples in 2022 while playing for Cleveland.
Rosario’s 2025 campaign proved a tale of two teams and timely resurgence. Beginning with the Washington Nationals, he posted a .270 average across 46 games, slamming five home runs and driving in 18 runs before a July 26 trade to the Yankees.
In pinstripes, he added a homer and five RBI in 16 appearances, finishing the regular season with a .276 mark, six long balls, and 23 RBIs over 62 games total. A left shoulder sprain sidelined him briefly in August, but Rosario returned to contribute in the postseason, going 3-for-10 with an RBI as the Yankees advanced to the NLDS.
Over nine MLB seasons, Rosario has carved a versatile path since his 2017 debut with the New York Mets, where he hit .287 as a rookie. Traded to Cleveland in 2021, he later suited up for the Guardians, Dodgers, Rays, Reds, Nationals, and Yankees, amassing 1,008 hits, 69 homers, and 110 stolen bases at .273. His steady bat and glove work across shortstop, second, and third base, cementing him as a reliable utility piece.
