Brian Windhorst Makes Surprising Giannis Trade Prediction

A desperate trade on the horizon, perhaps.

Since news surfaced that Giannis Antetokounmpo is ready to leave the Milwaukee Bucks, we’ve heard that the Miami Heat and New York Knicks are the franchises being aggressive in their offers.

However, don’t count out the Golden State Warriors.

In fact, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said on Friday that if Giannis is going to get traded before the Feb. 5 deadline, it’ll be the Warriors that land him.

Golden State is reportedly offering the Bucks a package of Jimmy Butler, Jonathan Kuminga, and all of its future draft capital. An insanely desperate move to salvage the end of Stephen Curry‘s career.

Antetokounmpo has delivered another dominant performance in the 2025-26 NBA season so far, averaging 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game through 30 appearances for the Bucks.

Shooting an efficient 64.5% from the field, he continues to dominate inside with his athleticism and finishing ability, while adding improved three-point shooting at 39.5%. Despite his individual excellence, the Bucks sit at a 15-15 record in games he has played, placing them outside the Eastern Conference playoff picture amid inconsistent team results and recent struggles.

A right calf strain suffered in late January has sidelined him for an estimated 4-6 weeks, following a strong stretch in early January where he posted multiple high-impact games, including a 30-point, 10-rebound, 5-assist outing.

Career-wise, Antetokounmpo stands as one of the league’s all-time greats through 12-plus seasons (889 games), averaging 24.0 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 5.0 assists on 55.4% shooting.

He earned back-to-back MVP awards in 2019 and 2020, Defensive Player of the Year in 2020, Finals MVP while leading Milwaukee to the 2021 championship, and 10 All-Star selections. He also claimed the 2024 NBA Cup MVP. His blend of size, skill, and versatility has made him a perennial force, with career totals reflecting sustained elite production across scoring, rebounding, and playmaking.
