Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Reacts To Being Named Pro Bowl Substitute For Drake Maye

'Thank you God'

Exciting NFL news broke on Monday when the league announced that Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is heading to the Pro Bowl.

With the New England Patriots heading to the Super Bowl and quarterback Drake Maye not allowed to participate in the Pro Bowl, the NFL needed to find his replacement.

Sanders played in the eight games, throwing for 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns to 10 interceptions. Sanders was ranked lower among the AFC quarterbacks that the NFL could consider. However, with many AFC quarterbacks injured or unwilling to participate, Sanders quickly became the next choice.

Sanders is excited about being a Pro Bowler and released a statement on X.

“Thank you God. I’m beyond excited and extremely grateful for all the love and support from the coaches, players, and fans,” Sanders wrote on Tuesday, via ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi. “This wouldn’t be possible without the support behind me. Still plenty of work to do.”

The Browns selected Sanders in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, making him the first Cleveland quarterback to earn a Pro Bowl nod since Derek Anderson did in 2008.
