Celtics’ Jaylen Brown Describes Discovering All-Star Starter News
Brown received awesome news on Monday.
Hours before the Boston Celtics fell to the Detroit Pistons on Monday night, Celtics wing Jaylen Brown received stellar news. JB was named an All-Star starter for the first time in his 10-year career.
Brown would have loved to beat the Pistons and add to the celebratory day, but his final shot on Monday night was a tad too long, and the Celts couldn’t escape Detroit with a victory.
It doesn’t take away from Jaylen’s excellent season thus far, in which he’s averaging 29.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.
Following the Pistons loss, CLNS Media’s Noa Dalzell asked Brown about how he found out that he was an All-Star starter.
Brown said he woke up from a nap with his phone going crazy with texts from family. He also commented on how the best part about receiving an accolade like this is that his family and friends get to celebrate it.
JB’s loved ones have had plenty to celebrate him for during the present season. Brown’s scoring prowess has propelled Boston to the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference during a year that most people expected the Celts to be tanking.
Standout moments have included a 50-point explosion against the LA Clippers on January 3, securing a vital win, as well as 41 points in a blowout over Atlanta on January 17, marking his fifth 40-point outing this year.
Despite the loss to Detroit on Monday, Brown delivered 32 points and 11 rebounds.
