Brown has missed three games this season
The Celtics will welcome the Sacramento Kings on Friday night, but Boston’s guard, Jaylen Brown is likely to miss the game.
Boston released an injury status update on Thursday evening, listing Brown as doubtful due to left hamstring tightness and a right knee contusion.
Brown has been struggling with hamstring tightness for much of the season and has appeared on the Celtics’ injury report multiple times due to it.
The Celtics also reported that Neemias Queta is dealing with an illness, but it is probable, and that Jayson Tatum will be out for Friday’s game due to a torn Achilles tendon.
Many expect that Tatum could make a comeback this season. Still, ESPN’s NBA insider Ramona Shelburne reported on Thursday that Tatum informed the network he hasn’t yet decided whether he will return from a torn Achilles tendon this season.
Shelburne noted that Tatum said he “wants to get it right the first time, so it’s just a lot to think about.”
The Celtics, like every NBA team, are navigating the challenging winter months, marked by injury concerns. However, if Brown’s hamstring tightness persists and Tatum doesn’t return this season, it could be a significant setback for Boston if it makes the playoffs.
