Dan Orlovsky Trolls Patriots With C.J. Stroud Observation

Valid from Orlovsky?

Despite the New England Patriots advancing to the AFC Championship game with a 28-16 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday, New England’s critics are still trolling.

Dan Orlovsky jumped on the Patriots hate train on Monday morning by claiming that “31 other quarterbacks” would have won Sunday’s game for the Houston Texans.

In Orlovsky’s defense, he wasn’t really hating on the Pats here as much as pointing out the awful performance from Texans QB C.J. Stroud, but it was still a bit of a troll move to focus on Stroud’s disaster class rather than, say, laud New England’s awesome defense.

Stroud had a nightmare day, throwing four interceptions in the first half, and many fans and analysts expected Houston to bench him in the second half.

The Texans kept rolling with Stroud but ultimately couldn’t get it done at Gillette Stadium, thanks in large part to the aforementioned Pats D, which made things difficult for Stroud on every snap.

It’s become customary for the media to take credit away from the Patriots all season long. The main narrative has been their historically easy schedule, a storyline that is sure to continue now that the Pats are set to face backup QB (and former Patriot) Jarrett Stidham in Denver.
