Drake Maye Reacts To Kayshon Boutte’s Epic Touchdown Grab In Patriots Win

'It's pretty sweet'

Drake Maye and Kayshon Boutte added another spectacular play to their highlight reel during Sunday’s AFC Divisional Round win over the Houston Texans.

The duo composed the final salvo in a 28-16 victory when Maye found Boutte for a 32-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Boutte dove to the ground and made a spectacular one-handed catch to give New England breathing room at Gillette Stadium.

Maye applauded his wide receiver’s latest acrobatic play after the game, via Fox Sports.

“He keeps on making them,” Maye said. “He keeps on making plays, making me look good. And (I’m) proud to be able to give him some throws to make a play on it. And I think, you know, one-handed catch, there’s not much else to say about it. It’s pretty sweet.”

It’s not the first improbable touchdown or catch in traffic Boutte has made. Maye credited his teammate for upping the ante in a massive spot.

“It was kind of the same type of throw as my first one to him, and he made an even better catch this time,” Maye added. “Just props to Kayshon for keeping on playing. It was huge for us tonight.”

Boutte finished Sunday with a game-high 75 receiving yards on three catches. The potent playmaker tallied 551 receiving yards in the regular season and 66 in a first-round win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Boutte ultimately backed up his bold pre-game claim that Houston’s top-ranked defense isn’t “too complicated.” He and Maye will look to make more downfield magic when the Patriots play the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game next Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
