Eagles GM Issues Murky Comments On Potential Patriots Trade Target

Is Philly open to trading one of its top playmakers?

The New England Patriots are currently focused on their upcoming divisional round matchup against the Houston Texans. At some point, though, the offseason will arrive, and when it does roll around, the Pats will surely be intent on making upgrades to their roster in an effort to build off of this breakout campaign.

Despite all of the success the team has enjoyed this season, New England has several areas of need it will be looking to address over the offseason. Adding another de facto star wide receiver to help Drake Maye out in the passing game is surely close to the top of that list.

One of the most popular trade targets Pats fans have been eyeing for years is Philadelphia Eagles stud A.J. Brown. After the Eagles were eliminated from the playoffs last weekend, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman offered some interesting comments when discussing whether or not he’d be open to trading Brown over the offseason.

“It’s hard to find great players in the NFL and A.J.’s a great player,” Roseman said when asked about potentially trading Brown. “That’s what we’re going out and looking for, when we go out in free agency and the Draft, is trying to find great players who love football and he’s that guy. So that would be my answer.”

Brown put together another solid campaign for the Eagles in 2025, as he caught 78 passes for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns, but he didn’t reach the heights he had hit in previous seasons. Throughout the year, Brown struggled to contain his frustration with Philly’s struggles on offense, leading to speculation that he could be on the move soon.

New England stands out as a top landing spot for Brown, as he has familiarity with head coach Mike Vrabel from their days with the Tennessee Titans, and he has expressed admiration for Pats’ legends like Tom Brady and Julian Edelman. For now, though, the Patriots are fully focused on taking down the Texans on Sunday afternoon.
