Eagles Reportedly Hire New Offensive Coordinator

The Philadelphia Eagles have a new offensive coordinator.

Philly is hiring Sean Mannion to be the team’s OC, multiple sources reported on Thursday. Mannion was the Green Bay Packers’ quarterbacks coach this season.

Mannion’s coaching career has unfolded rapidly since he retired from playing after the 2023 NFL season. The former Oregon State standout and nine-year NFL quarterback (drafted in the third round by the Rams in 2015) transitioned directly into coaching with the Green Bay Packers.

He joined the Packers as an offensive assistant in February 2024, focusing primarily on quarterbacks Jordan Love and Malik Willis under head coach Matt LaFleur. Mannion’s background as a backup QB, including time with the Rams, Vikings, and Seahawks, allowed him to contribute quickly to quarterback development.

In January 2025, the Packers promoted him to quarterbacks coach. During the 2025 season, he played a key role in Love’s performance, as the starter achieved a 101.2 passer rating, along with strong backup contributions from Willis, who posted high efficiency in relief and spot starts.

At 33 years old, with just two prior seasons of coaching experience, Mannion now steps into a prominent play-calling role for a playoff-caliber team.

His quick progression from player to position coach to coordinator draws attention across the league, reflecting his preparation from years under respected offensive minds and his ability to adapt swiftly to coaching demands.
