Kevin Stefanski is welcoming back someone he knows well
Former New England Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt appeared to have found a new home.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on Saturday that the Atlanta Falcons are bringing in Van Pelt as their new quarterback coach.
Van Pelt will join new head coach Kevin Stefanski. Van Pelt and Stefanski were together with the Browns from 2020 to 2023. Van Pelt served as the offensive coordinator for Cleveland before the Browns decided to part ways with him after making the playoffs in 2023.
Following the Browns’ decision to part ways with Van Pelt, he was welcomed by Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo, who brought him on as New England’s new offensive coordinator.
Van Pelt spent one season in New England before moving on to serve as the Los Angeles Rams senior offensive assistant this season.
Stefanski is bringing along many coaches he previously worked with in Cleveland to Atlanta. Former Browns offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and offensive line coach Bill Callahan will also join him.
