Giants Predicted To Hire Super Bowl XLVII Winning Head Coach

With nine head coach openings in the NFL right now, there will be plenty of news about how teams are going about their head coaching searches. Perhaps one of the more attractive openings is the New York Giants.

The Giants fired Brian Daboll midseason, but they have plenty of great pieces for the next head coach to work with. Jaxson Dart looked solid in his rookie season, Cam Skattebo was playing great before his injury, Abdul Carter is a talented pass rusher and Malik Nabers is expected to return.

The Giants will be thorough, but one candidate sticks out. John Harbaugh is perhaps the best coach available this offseason. He is a Coach of the Year Award winner and won Super Bowl XLVII with the Baltimore Ravens. The Giants are interviewing Harbaugh in person on Wednesday, according to Ian Rapoport and NorthJersey.com’s Albert Bainbridge IV predicts they will hire him.

“With rumors suggesting Tomlin’s likely headed to a TV broadcast or potentially even calling NFL games next season, the Giants don’t wait around, as they get their guy with Super Bowl pedigree and stabilize their head coach vacancy by hiring Harbaugh to be the new leader of the franchise and make him one of the highest paid coaches in the NFL,” predicted Bainbridge.

Harbaugh coached the Ravens for 18 seasons. He oversaw the development of Joe Flacco, who led the Ravens to a Super Bowl, and Lamar Jackson, who won two MVP Awards with Harbaugh.

The Giants have not been to the playoffs since the 2022 season, and Harbaugh could be the best candidate to get them back into the postseason. He will have plenty of suitors, but the Giants may not let him leave the building on Wednesday without a deal, as Rapoport noted that conversations have happened before the interview.

He is 180-113 as a head coach with a 13-11 record in the playoffs. He will have other options, but the Giants already have their quarterback in place, which is something they have over some other destinations.
