JT's recovery continues ...
Boston Celtics love whenever new Jayson Tatum workout footage surfaces. A particularly enjoyable instance of this occurred last month when photo and video emerged of Tatum working out with Brad Stevens in Indiana.
Well, with the Celtics in Detroit to take on the Pistons on Monday night, new footage has hit the internet of Tatum getting another workout in, this time in the Motor City.
There have been multiple videos surfacing on X, but a tasteful one comes from FanSided’s Jack Simone, as it shows Tatum rising up with ease for a dunk, thereby showcasing his regained athleticism and agility.
It’s now been over eight months since Tatum tore his Achilles against the New York Knicks in the playoffs.
Neither Tatum nor the Celtics have made any sort of announcement about an expected return date for the All-NBA wing, but media outlets have collectively speculated that a March return to the hardwood is not out of the question for Tatum.
With the Celtics holding down the No. 2 seed in the East without Tatum, adding JT to the mix could put Boston in prime position to seriously contend and get back to the NBA Finals, a place they’ve been recently in both 2024 and 2022.
Tatum’s 2024-25 season was stellar, despite it ending in horrific fashion. JT averaged 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 6.0 assists across 72 games, marking career highs in rebounds and assists. He secured his sixth All-Star nod and propelled the Celtics to a 60-win record.
Throughout his career, spanning eight seasons all with the Celtics since being drafted third overall in 2017, Jayson has averaged 23.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game in 585 contests.
