The Los Angeles Dodgers just agreed to sign Kyle Tucker to a rambunctious four-year, $240 million deal. Earlier in the offseason, they made Edwin Díaz the richest reliever ever. But they’re not done. They’re never done.

A new report from The Athletic’s Katie Woo indicates that the Dodgers remain interested in trading for Milwaukee Brewers ace Freddy Peralta.

“The Dodgers remain interested in Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta, a two-time All-Star approaching his final season before free agency,” Woo wrote on Tuesday. “Peralta is one of the top starters on the trade market after logging a career-best 2.70 ERA over 33 starts for the National League Central champions.”

Peralta delivered a standout 2025 season as the Brewers’ ace, posting a career-best 17-6 record with a 2.70 ERA over 33 starts. He logged 176 2/3 innings, striking out 204 batters while issuing 66 walks for a sharp 1.08 WHIP.

His performance ranked among the NL’s top starters, earning him an All-Star nod and a fifth-place finish in Cy Young voting. Peralta’s consistency shone through with his third consecutive 200-strikeout campaign, helping Milwaukee secure the NL Central title with a 97-65 record.

In the postseason, he started three games, going 1-2 with a 4.70 ERA across 15 1/3 innings and 19 strikeouts, though the Brewers fell short in their playoff run.

As of Jan. 20, Peralta remains with the Brewers under his $8 million club option for the upcoming year, but trade buzz continues. His dominant 2025 solidified his status as one of baseball’s reliable front-line starters, and teams like the Dodgers can’t help but be interested.
