Micah Parsons Reacts To Terrible Bill Belichick Hall of Fame Decision
Belichick has won eight Super Bowls in total
The NFL world was shocked to learn that Bill Belichick would not be a first-ballot Hall of Famer, and Green Bay Packers superstar Micah Parsons chimed in on X.
“They didn’t put Barry bonds in HOF nothing surprises me anymore!” Parsons wote on X Tuesday night.
Bonds is Major League Baseball’s all-time home run leader, a seven-time MVP Award winner, a 14-time All-Star, an eight-time Gold Glover, a 12-time Silver Slugger and a two-time batting champion.
Allegations of performance-enhancing drug use have kept one of the greatest baseball players in history out of the Hall of Fame. Belichick’s situation is not so different. According to ESPN’s Don Van Natta Jr. and Seth Wickersham, Belichick’s history played a role in him not getting the necessary votes in his first year on the ballot.
“Multiple sources told ESPN that Spygate and Deflategate, the twin cheating scandals during the Patriots’ championship run, came up in deliberations among voters,” ESPN wrote on Tuesday. “A voter who spoke on condition of anonymity said that Polian, an ardent Kraft supporter and former general manager of the Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts — a chief Patriots rival during their dynasty — told some voters he believed Belichick should ‘wait a year’ before induction as penance for Spygate, the 2007 cheating scandal that cost the team a first-round draft pick. Commissioner Roger Goodell also fined the Patriots $500,000 and fined Belichick $250,000.”
Belichick has won eight Super Bowls, six with the New England Patriots and two with the New York Giants as an assistant. Belichick was the Patriots’ head coach for 24 seasons, leading them to nine Super Bowls. His six Super Bowl wins as a head coach are the most of all time.
He has the most playoff wins and conference championships in history among head coaches. He trails only Don Shula in total wins and was a three-time Coach of the Year Award winner.
