Patriots Division Rival Listed As Landing Spot For Kyler Murray

The New York Jets might not get the opportunity to draft their quarterback of the future this coming offseason, which could lead to a trade.
On Monday, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox listed the Jets as the top trade landing spot for Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray.
“A few quarterbacks may find themselves on the trade market, including Arizona Cardinals signal-caller Kyler Murray,” Knox wrote. “The 28-year-old has never delivered any postseason success, and Arizona’s offense actually operated more efficiently with him out of the lineup this past season.”
“The Cardinals will be rebuilding with a new head coach in 2026, so it may be the right time to move in a new direction at quarterback,” Knox continued. “Of course, his 2026 cap hit of $53.3 million could make it difficult for Arizona to maximize Murray’s trade value.”
“One source believes that the starting price point for Murray will be a second-round pick … and that if the Cardinals can move the two-time Pro Bowler, they will. The Jets might be the one team desperate enough to expend draft and cap capital to take a flier on Murray.”
Murray’s 2025 NFL season with the Cardinals was cut short by injury, limiting him to just five starts. He completed 110 of 161 passes for 962 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions, posting an 88.6 passer rating.
On the ground, Murray added 173 rushing yards and one score, helping the team to a 2-3 record in his appearances. A lingering foot injury sidelined him after Week 5, and he was placed on injured reserve in early November, missing the remainder of the campaign.
Over his seven-year career since being selected first overall in 2019, Murray has thrown for 20,460 yards and 121 touchdowns while rushing for 3,193 yards and 32 scores in 87 games. The Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2019, he earned Pro Bowl nods in 2020 and 2021, guiding Arizona to the playoffs that latter year.
Despite setbacks like a 2022 ACL tear, Murray’s dual-threat ability has defined his tenure, though consistency and health remain key challenges moving forward.
