Patriots’ Drake Maye Responds To Speculation About Shoulder Injury

'I'm feeling good'

The New England Patriots are heading to the Super Bowl, but there’s speculation that quarterback Drake Maye might have injured his right shoulder during the AFC Championship.

However, Maye did not provide any details regarding a potential shoulder injury. He appeared on “WEEI Afternoons” on Tuesday, where the host asked whether he had experienced any shoulder issues.

“I’m feeling good,” Maye said. “We’ve got some extra rest, and I’m feeling good and ready to go for the Super Bowl.”

Maye’s injury speculation began on Monday when David J. Chao, known as ProFootballDoc on X, started discussing his belief that Maye had hurt his right shoulder on Sunday. He didn’t speculate on how severe the injury was, but from watching the film, he thinks there probably was one.

Maye knows his body better than anyone else, and he probably would have mentioned something if there was an issue with his shoulder. NFL teams can’t hide injuries, as they have to report them on the practice report when required.

The good news for Maye is that the Super Bowl isn’t until Feb.8, giving him a full two weeks without playing. He can use this time to rest his shoulder and any other aches, ensuring he’s fully prepared for the big day.
