Patriots’ Mike Vrabel Discusses Kayshon Boutte Following Epic Catch

Boutte came up huge on Sunday.

The New England Patriots advanced to the AFC Championship with a 28-16 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday. Among the Patriots’ big plays, none stood out more than Kayshon Boutte’s stunning, one-handed touchdown grab in the fourth quarter.

On Monday duringd The Greg Hill Show, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel discussed Boutte, talking about his growth this season.

“Kayshon’s growth as a person and as a teammate …. I’ve really just seen him open up (this season),” Vrabel said. “He’s really trusted Todd Downing and the rest of the receivers. That’s a really good group from the standpoint that everybody helps, everybody contributes. You saw it again last night. I like (Kayshon’s) competitiveness. That showed up last week, that showed up last night, and I’m happy for him.”

Boutte has emerged as a reliable threat for Drake Maye and the Patriots’ offense this season, building on his breakout 2024 campaign.

In 14 regular-season games (10 starts), the third-year wide receiver from LSU recorded 33 receptions for 551 yards and six touchdowns, averaging an impressive 16.7 yards per catch.

In the wild-card round win over the Los Angeles Chargers on January 11, Boutte caught all four targets for 66 yards. He hauled in three catches for 75 yards and the aforementioned touchdown against the Texans on Sunday.
