TreVeyon Henderson played just four snaps
The New England Patriots won a snow-filled 10-7 game against the Denver Broncos to punch their ticket to Super Bowl LX.
The conditions in the game made it difficult to pass the ball consistently, so the Patriots leaned heavily on the ground game. Drake Maye threw the ball 21 times, completing just 10 passes. The Patriots ran the ball 38 times.
Rhamondre Stevenson led the team with 71 rushing yards on 25 carries. Maye has 65 rushing yards on 10 carries, including three kneel downs. TreVeyon Henderson did not see much action, logging just four snaps in the game.
It was Henderson’s lowest snap count since Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans. After that game, Henderson had 758 rushing yards, eight rushing touchdowns, 122 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown in the regular season.
Henderson is an Offensive Rookie of the Year finalist, alongside Jaxson Dart, Emeka Egbuka, Tetairoa McMillan and Tyler Shough. He has been a key player for the Patriots since week eight and finished with 1,132 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns.
However, he has not gotten going in the playoffs. Against three stout defenses, Henderson has just 57 rushing yards and seven receiving yards.
Stevenson has carried the load this postseason, and the Patriots have another tough matchup coming up. The Seattle Seahawks defense is also elite and allowed the third fewest rushing yards this regular season.
After playing 51 snaps in the first two playoff games, Henderson took a backseat in the AFC Championship Game. Perhaps the game conditions played a role, but the Patriots were content with Stevenson getting a heavy share of carries against the Broncos.
