Sam Darnold’s Mind‑Boggling Stat Vs. Patriots Could Tip Super Bowl Toward New England

Darnold has struggled against New England

The Patriots are preparing for the Super Bowl against the Seattle Seahawks, with a familiar quarterback waiting for New England.

Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold began his NFL career in the AFC East, playing for the Jets from 2018 to 2020. Darnold faced the Patriots three times while in New York, but he didn’t win a single game.

In 2021, the Jets traded Darnold to the Panthers, where he encountered New England one more time, failing to reach the win column.

The problem with Darnold against New England was his lack of support from his team and his ball-security issues, as he threw nine interceptions and only one touchdown.

Even though Darnold has a 0-4 record against the Patriots, he’s never been part of a team as strong as this one. He has become a different player compared to the one New England faced back in 2021, showing significant improvement in his performance.

However, even though Darnold hasn’t faced the Patriots in over four years, it doesn’t mean he can’t have flashbacks of his past encounters when he starts looking at New England’s helmet.

Certain players in sports can’t seem to overcome a particular team, and perhaps that’s the case for Darnold with the Patriots.
