Seahawks Interception Leader, Leading Tackler Pops Up On Injury Report Before Patriots Game

Ernest Jones IV is dealing with a chest injury

The Super Bowl matchup is set, and the countdown to the big game is underway for the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.

Injuries will be something to monitor going into the game, and the Seahawks could be dealing with a major one. Star linebacker Ernest Jones IV was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday’s practice on the injury report.

It is worth noting that the Seahawks did not actually practice, so Wednesday’s injury report is just an estimation. The team will take the field for practice on Thursday. Jones’ status with a chest injury will be something to keep an eye on.

Jones is the Seahawks’ leading tackler and interception leader despite only playing in 15 games this season. He has five interceptions and 126 tackles. He also has half a sack on the season.

Jones was named a Second-Team All-Pro this season, marking the first time he has been on any All-Pro team in his five-year career. Jone won a Super Bowl as a rookie with the Los Angeles Rams.

If Jones is unable to play, the Seahawks’ elite defense could be in trouble. He is one of the most important players on the team.

Jones will have an extra week to heal up since the Super Bowl is not until Feb. 8. His injury, along with Sam Darnold’s, will be the two most important injuries to keep an eye on leading into the game.
