Diggs had four receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown
The New England Patriots are off to the AFC Championship Game following their 28-16 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday.
New England’s defense was the star of the game, as the Patriots intercepted C.J. Stroud four times. It was a dominant performance from the defense, while the offense and Drake Maye struggled early on with turnovers of their own.
Yet, Patriots star receiver Stefon Diggs believes it is a good thing, as he believes the team learned a lesson.
“Yeah, 100 percent,” Diggs said postgame on Sunday on if the Patriots learned anything from the win. “I think we learned a lesson a lot about ourselves, about our adversity. We talked a lot about it during the week, that a fight ain’t a fight until you meet resistance, until they swing back, and they definitely were swinging back the whole time.
“So, being able to weather the storm and come out with a W, I just feel like I’m thankful.”
Diggs finished the game with four receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown. Although the Patriots have already exceeded most expectations this season, Diggs knows the team is far from finished.
The Patriots will go on the road to play the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, and Diggs already has turned his focus to that game.
“I want to just move on, move on to the next,” Diggs added. “Be thankful for where we are, but we’ve got to get another one.”
New England is a 5.5-point road favorite over the Broncos, who are without quarterback Bo Nix.
