Vikings Reportedly Make Huge Front Office Change

A front office change in Minnesota.

The Minnesota Vikings are firing their general manager, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, according to multiple sources.

The Athletic’s Diana Russini was among those reporting the news on Friday afternoon.

The Vikings hired Adofo-Mensah as general manager in January 2022. His early tenure delivered strong results, including a 13-4 record in 2022 that secured an NFC North title and a playoff appearance, followed by another 13-win season soon after.

He signed key free agents in 2024 that boosted the roster, leading to a 14-3 campaign that year, multiple Pro Bowl selections among those additions, and another playoff berth.

The Vikings extended his contract for multiple years in May 2025. However, the 2025 season brought challenges, finishing 9-8 and missing the playoffs amid struggles at quarterback and other roster areas.

Adofo-Mensah has built a notable career in NFL front-office roles, blending analytical expertise with roster-building decisions. He began his professional path in football operations with the San Francisco 49ers in 2013 as manager of football research and development. He advanced there to director of football research and development through 2019, contributing to the team’s innovative use of data in player evaluation and strategy during a period of sustained success.

In 2020, Adofo-Mensah joined the Cleveland Browns as vice president of football operations, where he spent two seasons overseeing analytics-driven aspects of personnel and team planning.

It’ll be interesting to see where Adofo-Mensah’s football journey takes him next.
