It's almost time for Super Bowl LX!
The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will do battle in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, Feb. 3.
I’d love to give you some background on the game, while also doing my damndest to help you remain engaged and stay on this page for as long as possible, but you read the title! It’s going to be a long one no matter what, so buckle up and learn something that you can spew at your Super Bowl party next Sunday.
*deep breath*
1. Super Bowl LX will be the first one ever played on Feb. 8.
2. The NFL is introducing “USA 250” patches to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. It’s the second time they’ve done something like this, as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys wore “bicentennial” patches in Super Bowl X.
3. The Seahawks have only three active roster members with Super Bowl experience: wide receiver Cooper Kupp (LVI), linebacker Ernest Jones IV (LVI) and cornerback Josh Jobe (LVII).
4. The Patriots (85%) have a slightly higher win percentage than the Seahawks (84.2%) because of their extra playoff win, which stacks the deck against them in betting circles — as teams with the higher winning percentage are 1-17 against the spread since 2004.
5. The Patriots have only five active roster members with Super Bowl experience: tight end Austin Hooper (LI), wide receiver Mack Hollins (LII), cornerback Carlton Davis III (LV), defensive lineman Milton Williams (LVII, LIX) and linebacker Christian Elliss (LVII).
6. North Carolina (James Polk and Drake Maye) could become the sixth school to produce a U.S. President and a Super Bowl-winning QB. Delaware (Joe Biden and Joe Flacco), Michigan (Gerald Ford and Tom Brady), Stanford (Herbert Hoover and Jim Plunkett), Navy (Jimmy Carter and Roger Staubach) and Miami (OH) (Benjamin Harrison and Ben Roethlisberger) are the others.
7. Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels can become the most decorated player/coach in franchise history with victory, as his seventh ring would help him surpass both Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.
8. The Seahawks will wear blue-blue-blue, and history tells us that isn’t a great sign. Seattle is 1-0 when wearing white jerseys and 0-2 when wearing blue jerseys in the Super Bowl.
9. The Patriots’ decision to wear silver-white-white made sense on several levels, as it represents their “road warrior” mentality after going 9-0 in away games in 2025.
10. The Patriots and Seahawks will meet in a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX, becoming the 10th pair to rematch in the big game, joining Steelers-Cowboys (X, XIII, XXX) Dolphins-Redskins (VII, XVII), 49ers-Bengals (XVI, XXIII), Cowboys-Bills (XXVII, XXVIII), Patriots-Giants (XLII, XLVI), Patriots-Eagles (XXXIX, LII), Patriots-Rams (XXXVI, LIII) Chiefs-49ers (LIV, LVIII) and Chiefs-Eagles (LVII, LIX).
11. Super Bowl rematches usually favor the original victor, with those teams going back-to-back 66% of the time (6-3).
12. New England will stretch its lead in terms of appearances in the Super Bowl, reaching 12 while no other franchise has surpassed eight.
13. Levi’s Stadium will become the 13th venue to host the Super Bowl more than once, joining Caesar’s Superdome (8; XII, XV, XX, XXIV, XXXI, XXXVI, XLVII, LIX), Hard Rock Stadium (6; XXIII, XXIX, XXXIII, XLI, XLIV, LIV), Orange Bowl (5; II, III, V, X, XIII), Rose Bowl (5; XI, XIV, XVII, XXI, XXVII), Tulane Stadium (3; IV, VI, IX), San Diego Stadium (3; XXII, XXXII, XXXVII), Raymond James Stadium (3; XXXV, XLIII, LV), State Farm Stadium (3; XLII, XLIX, LVII), Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (2; I, VII), Tampa Stadium (2; XVIII, XXV), Georgia Dome (2; XXVIII, XXXIV) and NRG Stadium (2; XXXVIII, LI).
14. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald and Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel will become the third Mike vs. Mike head coaching matchup in the Super Bowl. Mike Shanahan’s Denver Broncos beat Mike Holmgren’s Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XXXII and Mike McCarthy’s Packers defeated Mike Tomlin’s Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.
15. Sean Payton’s Broncos could have met Sean McVay’s Rams, but both teams lost last Sunday.
16. Seattle and New England both ranked within the top five in points scored per game (28.4, 3rd; 28.8, 2nd), points allowed per game (17.1, 1st; 17.3, 2nd) and point differential (+191, 1st; +170, 3rd).
17. Super Bowl LX is the first since the 1970 NFL-AFL merger between teams that both ranked top-four in scoring offense and scoring defense.
18. New England (+8000) would become the team with the second longest preseason odds to ever win the Super Bowl, only trailing the 1999 Rams (+15000).
19. Seattle (+6000) would become tied for second with the 2001 Patriots (+6000).
20. Bad Bunny will become the 20th halftime performer — including Gloria Estefan in 1992, Phil Collins in 2000 and U2 in 2002 — who wasn’t born in the continental United States, no matter what some people might try to convince you (or themselves).
21. Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold currently has the shortest odds (+130) to win Super Bowl LX MVP, per Circa Sportsbook.
22. Seahawks tight end Nick Kallerup has the longest odds (+300000) to win Super Bowl LX MVP, per Circa.
23. Maye is the second-youngest starting quarterback (23 years and 162 days) in Super Bowl history, being older than only Dan Marino (23 years, 127 days).
24. Maye can beat out Ben Roethlisberger (23 years, 340 days) to become the youngest starter to win a ring.
25. Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba are both vying to become the second person in history (Jim Plunkett) to win both Rose Bowl MVP and Super Bowl MVP.
26. New England’s 26 points allowed through three playoff games are the fewest since the 2000 Baltimore Ravens (20).
27. If they pitch a shutout, the Patriots (26) would surpass that same Ravens team (27) in terms of fewest points allowed in a four-game postseason since 2000.
28. The Patriots are at risk of going 6-6 in the Super Bowl, including 3-4 since 2007.
29. If the Patriots win, they’ll become the first-ever franchise with seven Super Bowl wins, surpassing the Steelers.
30. Darnold has played for five different teams, making him just the third quarterback to start a Super Bowl for his fifth (or more-than-fifth) franchise.
31. If he wins, he’d become the first-ever starting quarterback to win a ring with his fifth team. Earl Morrall was on his fifth team when he started for the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III and Chris Chandler was on his sixth when he started for the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl XXXIII, with both losing.
32. Macdonald-coached defenses have never allowed a fourth-quarter point in the postseason.
33. Coco Jones, who will perform Lift Every Voice and Sing, is the daughter of former Patriots defensive lineman Mike Jones — who ironically was on the other sideline when someone with the same name made the game-winning tackle in Super Bowl XXXIV.
34. Super Bowl LX is the first time both teams will wear monochromatic uniforms, which is only slightly interesting but we have to fill out some spots here…
35. Super Bowl LX will be the sixth that NBC’s Cris Collinsworth has called as a broadcaster and the fifth involving New England.
36. NBC will reportedly charge roughly $8 million for a 30-second commercial during Super Bowl LX.
37. New England has aesthetic history on its side, as teams wearing white jerseys are 37-22 in the Super Bowl.
38. Macdonald (38 years, 213 days) is the third-youngest head coach to make his first Super Bowl appearance behind McVay (33 years, 10 days) and Tomlin (36 years, 323 days).

40. The Super Bowl has been held at 27 different venues since 1967.
41. New England could surpass San Francisco with its 41st payoff victory — with the former’s winning percentage (.645) already toppling the latter’s (.606) for best all-time.
42. Super Bowl LIX brought in roughly 127.7 million viewers in 2025, with that number expected to rise in 2026.

44. Williams can become the first player to win back-to-back Super Bowls with two different teams since Kendall Blanton (LVI with the Los Angeles Rams and LVII with the Kansas City Chiefs).
45. Seattle is just the second franchise this century to make the Super Bowl with three different quarterback-head coach combinations; Matt Hasselbeck and Mike Holmgren (XL), Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll (XLVIII, XLIX), and now Darnold and Macdonald (LX).
46. Philadelphia is the other; Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb (XXXIX), Doug Pederson and Nick Foles (LII) and Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts (LVII, LIX).
47. The Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars still haven’t played in a Super Bowl.
48. Super Bowl LX is expected to bring in upwards of $630 million for the San Francisco-Bay Area.
49. The Seahawks have reached the Super Bowl as the No. 1 seed in the NFC three times since 2000, all within one year of a new pope being selected.
50. Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak can win a Super Bowl in the same stadium that his father, Gary, won one as head coach in Super Bowl 50.

57. Darnold is trying to become the second eighth-year starting quarterback to win a Super Bowl, joining Eli Manning (XLVI)).
