Celtics’ Top Three Trade Targets Identified By Bleacher Report

Who might Boston be eyeing?

On Monday, Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale identified three players he feels are the Boston Celtics‘ top three trade targets right now, with the Feb. 5 deadline fast approaching.

Favale listed Brooklyn Nets’ Day’Ron Sharpe, New Orleans Pelicans’ Yves Missi, and Golden State Warriors’ Quinton Post as three guys Brad Stevens might be calling about.

“Bigs should remain the focus even with Boston’s center-by-committee revelation,” Favale wrote. “Day’Ron Sharpe is conventionally huge and incredibly cheap ($6.3 million), generally goes hard on the glass and is an active x-factor for a surprisingly frisky Brooklyn Nets defense.”

“Yves Missi catches a lot of flak for his rickety hands and touch around the basket,” Favale continued. “Both should improve inside Boston’s spacing environment. His sub-$6 million salary next season, presence on the offensive glass and improving defense are the primary draws. Among everyone who has logged at least 500 minutes this season, Missi and Mitchell Robinson are the only players to rank in the 91st percentile or better of both offensive rebounding impact and block rate on shots they actually contest.”

When it came to Post, there was some mystery surrounding his availability, according to Favale.

“It remains to be seen how the Golden State Warriors will proceed following Jimmy Butler’s ACL injury,” Favale wrote. “They could deem Quinton Post untouchable. Even though he won’t glitz up their presence on the glass, the Celtics should see if his floor-spacing can be had for a combination of seconds.”
