Drake contributed to that number on Saturday.
No, we’re not talking about New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye or Seattle Seahawks linebacker Drake Thomas…
Drake, the multi-platinum selling recording artist, placed an outrageous wager on the Super Bowl — putting $1 million on New England.
If you aren’t aware of the rapper’s history, there has been something of a phenomenon suggesting that athletes or teams supported by him — whether it be by taking photos, being supported by public wagers, or just kind words — subsequently lose. Sean Strickland, Serena Williams, the Kentucky Wildcats, Toronto Maple Leafs, Alabama Crimson Tide, Golden State Warriors, Andrew Wiggins and Johnny Manziel are just a few of those negatively impacted over the years.

The Patriots will do everything in their power to avoid being on the wrong side Sunday, with kickoff for their matchup with the Seahawks scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET. Super Bowl LX will take place at Levi’s Stadium and can be watched on NBC and Peacock.
