JJJ is on the move.
Eight NBA players were on the move in a single trade on Tuesday, as the Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz did business together, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Headed to Utah are 2023 Defensive Player of the Year Jaren Jackson Jr., John Konchar, Jock Landale, and Vince Williams Jr.
Headed to Memphis are Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang, and three future first-round draft picks.
The deal signals a full-scale rebuild for the Grizzlies, as Jackson was one of their two franchise cornerstones, along with Ja Morant, whose departure might be on the way before Feb. 5.
Over his career, Jackson has evolved into a versatile big man since being selected fourth overall by the Grizzlies in the 2018 NBA Draft.
In 452 games, he holds lifetime averages of 18.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.9 blocks, shooting 46.7% from the field.
Early on, he earned All-Rookie honors in 2019 and established himself as a rim protector, leading the league in blocks per game for two straight seasons. His defensive excellence culminated in the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year award, along with three All-Defensive Team selections and two All-Star nods.
Offensively, Jackson has expanded his range, becoming a reliable three-point threat. In July 2025, he signed a five-year, $240 million extension with Memphis.
