The former Patriots QB made the media rounds in San Francisco
Joe Milton III clearly holds a grudge against the New England Patriots, but is he also bitter toward Drake Maye?
Well, no, actually.
Milton caused a stir this week when he said he felt “disrespected” by the Patriots — and head coach Jerod Mayo — during his time in New England. Milton, of course, was a sixth-round pick in 2024 and spent most of the campaign as a third-string QB before being traded to the Dallas Cowboys last offseason. Myriad rumors indicate Milton believed he deserved to play over Maye.
However, Milton offered words of encouragement to his former teammate while speaking with Patriots Wire’s Sophie Weller on Tuesday.
“My message to Drake: Do your thing,” Milton said. “Always be you … go win it.”
Milton appeared in four games for the Cowboys last season, completing 15 of 24 passes for 183 yards and one touchdown to go along with one interception.
Maye, on the other hand, authored an MVP-caliber season and led the Patriots to a spot in Super Bowl LX. They’ll face the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
