Maxx Crosby Trade Price Revealed As Patriots Rumors Begin

Crosby could cost more than Micah Parsons

Maxx Crosby reportedly told NFL insider Dianna Russini that he wants to play for Mike Vrabel, igniting rumors that the Patriots will trade for him.

“As for this upcoming offseason, outside free agency, the thing that I’m going to be watching are these players that perhaps want trades,” Russini said on Wednesday. “That’s what I want to see. Maxx Crosby doesn’t seem too happy in Las Vegas. Is he going to … ask out? I can tell you, I know he wants to play for Mike Vrabel. He’s told me before.”

Crosby was reportedly upset with being placed on injured reserve at the end of the season. The Raiders were out of contention and felt that it was best to shut Crosby down with a knee injury. If the messy end to the season leads to a trade request, what would he cost?

He would not be the only All-Pro pass rusher traded in the last 12 months. Micah Parsons was traded to the Green Bay Packers last offseason, and insider Jay Glazer thinks Crosby would cost even more.

“Probably more than Micah,” Glazer said on Wednesday when asked what kind of haul he would get. “The day it happened, no less than 20 teams called me and asked, ‘Dude, is this real? Can we get him?'”

Glazer noted that Crosby does not want to go through another rebuild, and the Patriots are not in a rebuild. They have their quarterback and are one win away from being Super Bowl champions.

Crosby is older than Parsons. He is a five-time Pro Bowler and has never been a First-Team All-Pro. However, he is a two-time Second Team All-Pro. He has 52.5 sacks in the last five years.

Parsons is a three-time First-Team All-Pro, five-time Pro Bowler and has 65 sacks in the last five seasons. Why would Crosby cost more in a trade? Well, perhaps the fact that he is already under contract and after next season, his cap hit is below $30 million for the remainder of it.

Regardless, he will not be cheap. However, the fact that he reportedly wants to play for Vrabel may give the Patriots a slight edge.
