'Belief. Identity. Rage.'
New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel issued a relatively simple final message to his team before Super Bowl LX.
“Belief. Identity. Rage.”
Vrabel shared those three words to conclude his club’s team meeting at 10 a.m. PT on Sunday, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.
Vrabel also leaned on his past experiences in the meeting, playing U2’s Beautiful Day for his current team while sharing the story of his former team overcoming their underdog status to defeat the then-St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI — hoping to instill belief that the same franchise can do it once again against the Seattle Seahawks.
It’s simple, but that is mostly how the head coach has approached this unlikely appearance in Super Bowl LX.
The Patriots and Seahawks will battle for ultimate glory at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
